For my “candidacy review” I presented cause & affect, an installation of 39 wall-hanging platters, two plywood tables, and a lot of tableware. The installation also served as the platform for an experiential artist talk / lecture performance that explored family history, queer lineage, queer theory, art history, and more. After the talk, we shared a meal. Participants worked together to set the table and clean up after.
December 2025
In fall 2025, the University of Arkansas capitulated to an unconstitutional state law requiring the posting of the King James version of the Ten Commandments in every classroom. I made broken covenant in response to the deafening silence of the School of Art’s administration. The orange diptych is titled advice to bureaucrats, the turquoise diptych is go read hannah arendt and m. gessen, and the light blue diptych is a pedagogy of fear.
